After completing an assignment, students can check their scores and feedback in both Breakout Learning and Canvas.
Viewing Results in Breakout Learning

Access Breakout Results in one of two ways:

Navigate to Assignments and click on the completed Breakout Learning assignment. Click "Open Application in New Tab" to access the full dashboard.

Navigate to the Breakout tab in the Canvas course sidebar. Click “View Results” next to the completed assignment to open the Assignment Page.

Click “View Summary” to open a detailed session results report with the following components:
1. Quiz Results

Displays each quiz question alongside all answer choices.

Highlights the selected response and identifies correct vs. incorrect answers.

Shows the individual quiz score compared to the group average.
2. Talk Time & Camera Metrics

Reports total individual talk time.

Displays whether the camera was on during the session.
-
Group averages for both metrics are provided for comparison.
3. Conversation Map
-
A visual timeline of all comments made during the session.
-
Each bubble represents a comment; the size reflects the depth of understanding based on rubric alignment.
4. Group Balance Score

Indicates whether group participation was evenly distributed.

Highlights individual talk time against the group average to assess balance.
5. Individual Evaluation Rubric
-
Highlights performance on key learning outcomes tied to specific rubrics.

Summarizes strengths and areas of improvement based on discussion contributions.

Assigns a cognitive score (e.g., Remembering, Understanding, Applying) using Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Provides a plain-language explanation of what the score reflects and guidance for improvement.

Viewing Grades in Canvas Gradebook
Once Breakout Learning syncs grades with Canvas, students can view their scores directly in the Canvas Gradebook.

Navigate to Courses > Grades in Canvas.

The Gradebook table displays all student assignments and scores, including Breakout assignments.
🚨 Important Notes

If a student completes a pre-quiz but does not attend the session, only the pre-quiz score will be recorded in Canvas.
