Check browser settings and permissions

To ensure a seamless experience in Breakout Learning, you need to grant permission for the use of your microphone and camera in your web browser. Follow these steps to check your browser settings and make sure everything is set up correctly.

Chrome Settings

Upon joining a session in Breakout Learning using Chrome, a pop-up will appear requesting permission to access your camera and microphone (or if you've cleared your Chrome history). To ensure the best experience in Breakout Learning, simply select Allow.

Chrome-1-1

If you prevent Breakout Learning from accessing your camera or microphone in Chrome, you will notice a camera icon in the top right corner of your site address bar with a red "x" to indicate that site access has been denied. By selecting this icon, you can modify your preferences accordingly.

Chrome-2

To grant Breakout Learning access to your camera, choose the option that allows it. If needed, select the microphone icon on your video preview to modify microphone permissions. Remember to refresh the page for the changes to take effect.

To view or modify your permissions during a video session, click on the lock icon located to the left of the URL. From there, you can turn on the Camera and Microphone options. If you don't see these options, you can access the Site settings to make the necessary changes.

Chrome-3

If you choose Site settings, the Privacy and security tab in Chrome's Settings will open. Look for the Breakout Learning URL (cases.breakoutlearning.com) at the top of the page. Make sure to set the Microphone and Camera permissions to Allow.

Firefox Settings

When you first enter Breakout Learning in Firefox (or if you've cleared your Firefox history), you will see a pop-up asking for camera and microphone access permissions. Select Allow to provide the best experience in Breakout Learning.

If you prevent Breakout Learning from accessing your camera or microphone in Firefox, you can easily change this by clicking on the small settings or camera icon in the URL bar. From there, you can toggle the camera and microphone settings and choose the options to Allow Temporarily. Refresh the page to apply the updated settings.
